personal history, positions held and working environments: westcountry raised, born in somerset, moved to devon and and educated mainly in exmouth followed by a one year art foundation course at exeter college and then onto to cornwall to falmouth college of arts for my BA degree in graphic design. graduated in 2000 and have worked in a variety of arts and design based roles and environments both as an employee and freelance - design, signwriting, web design and photography all being focal areas and working in studios, galleries, publishers and an independant jeweller. freelance signwriting, beside the wave gallery and publisher and orlando jewellers as a photographer, printed media and web designer, freelance design. work placements as a holiday park photographer, graphic designer and working in pre press for the express and echo.

skills and qualifications: graphic and web design; digital, slr and medium format photography; GAGTL trained rethreader; trained framemaker and mountboard cutter. programmes knowledge photoshop, illustrator, quark, dreamweaver, word, excel - pc and mac literate.

design methods: I work hands on with mixed medias, painting, drawing and using old printed matter and collected items often combining into a cut and paste multilayered digital style.

places and things of inspiration: the coast, french countryside, cathedrals and churches, galleries, paperchase stores, habitat, heals, music stores, magma bookshop, film, the design museum, magazines and newspapers: art review / wallpaper / id / vogue / the guardian. I thrive on organic and digital imagery with fascinating pattern and shape, human form and vibrant colour.
